The Benefits Series: Environmental

As you may know, powder coating has evolved and changed over the years along with the industry itself. Different than other finishes, powders do not contain any VOCs or solvents, both of which can be very harmful to the environment. The waste that does come from powder coating is not hazardous and can be safely disposed in a landfill.

Additionally, powder coating results in little to no overspray, making for less runoff into the environment, conserving material. Last, but not the least of the environmental positives, no powder escapes into the atmosphere; therefore, powder has a reduced effect on air pollution. In contrast, solvents are not recoverable. Those that use other finishes need after-burners making their process more costly and less green.
