TCI Powder Coatings, RPM International, Names Thomas G. Whalen Director of Marketing and Segment Strategy

(Ellaville, GA, August 21, 2015) TCI Powder Coatings, a proud subsidiary of RPM International Inc. (NYSE: RPM), is pleased to welcome Thomas G. Whalen as Director of Marketing and Segment Strategy. Tom brings over 25 years of experience in the industrial coatings market to this new position with TCI. For the past 2 years, Tom was with PPG Industries as the Global Business Director, Consumer Electronics, and Performance Glass Coatings. Prior to that, Whalen was Vice President of Liquid and Mirror Coatings Units and led two global businesses with Spraylat, which was acquired by PPG.  Before joining Spraylat, Tom worked at Valspar with an increasing level of management experience, including Global Segment Director. Tom started his coatings career with Moline Paint in 1986 in sales and held senior positions including International Business Director.
Jack Bostock, TCI Vice President Sales and Marketing, expresses “We are thrilled to have Tom join our team. Tom has a unique blend of skills and experience in business planning, commercial strategy, and globalizing businesses. Tom will help lead TCI in organizing around global segmentation. Mr. Whalen is a graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S. in International Business. Tom resides in Frankfort, Illinois with his wife Gloria and their three children; Abby, Daniel, and Carolyn.

Fabtech 2019

Fabtech is always an exciting and electrifying show, and this year in Chicago was no different. The event attendees totaled over 48,000 from 95 different countries. TCI utilized the same booth we did last year, a 20’ x 20’ space with graphics highlighting our values: innovation, service and performance, and also our 7 core markets. This year we brought TCI product literature such as stock color cards, case studies and RAL Decks. We also used this opportunity to launch our new high-performance FenceCoat Gen II platform and highlighted it with various fence parts coated in popular architectural colors. Other powder coated parts we displayed included domes and speed shapes. The bright colors and variety of textures on these pieces brought much attention and people were intrigued by all the options that powder coatings can offer.
