Powder Coating Core Markets: Fixtures

Image
Outdoor fixtures suffer a constant beating from sunlight, cold, heat, ice, snow, wind, and rain. The biggest cause of fading is ultraviolet sunlight. Faded fixtures, lampposts, and pendants look bad and kill home and business appeal. Powder coatings are an excellent option for outdoor fixtures due to their excellent surface protection and diverse decorative capabilities. We offer an extensive selection of textured, metallic, and low cure powder coatings that perform well outdoors. Our UV-resistant, extremely durable powder coating powders are especially well-suited for outdoor applications, when you want an attractive finish but require a high level of durability to provide maximum protection from the natural wear and tear encountered in an outdoor environment. Cartridge Recovery System

Image
Cartridge powder recovery systems are recovery systems that have almost 100% recovery of over-sprayed powder.  The powder gets collected on a filter as it passes through. The highest powder recovery is possible when the filters are new or thoroughly cleaned. Cartridge filter collectors have become one of the most popular types of powder separation and recovery systems available. The emergence of the cartridge filter recovery system in the early 1980's contributed greatly to powder coating growth because this type of system allowed finishers to use as much as 99% of the powder they bought. This advancement in powder recovery dramatically increased powder coating productivity and allowed finishers to achieve significant cost savings by switching from liquid to powder. Conventional Powder Recovery System (Cyclonic)

Image
Cyclone powder recovery systems recover the over-sprayed powder within its confines by preventing powder spillage in the work area. Cyclone powder recovery uses a single cyclone and cyclonic action to separate the powder from the air, then collecting the powder in the collection bin below.  With this system, the collection efficiency is in the range of 80-85% and offers simple operation. Cyclone cleaning is easy and therefore this system can be used for multiple colors. For more information like this, please see or download our  powder coating technical guide  on our website.

Powder Coating Recovery

The function of a powder recovery system is to collect any overspray material and return it suitable for recycling, while at the same time removing the powder particles from the exhaust air stream before it discharges into the atmosphere.  The recovery system consists of three components: the booth, which contains the excess powder; the collector, which retrieves the excess; and the filters, which clean and return the air.  Booth: Provides a contained area for the application and holds excess powder Provides a controlled atmosphere with safe operating levels Permits the maximum possible exposure time of the parts to the powder Circulates the powders’ concentration towards the parts and away from the booth walls Collector: Separates the powder from the air stream exhaust Allows for a maximum retrieval of powder overspray Permits a central collection area to reintroduce reclaim powder into the untouched powder Filter: Allows for the return of cleaned conditioned
